Lucas Graciano is a native of Southern California. He started his career as a
caricature artist, working at local theme parks and events in San Diego County.
In 2002, Lucas won multiple awards at the National Caricaturist Network
competition. After a good run doing caricatures Lucas wanted to work on his
drawing skills. He found a small local art school and little did he
know the school would turn out to be one of the best in the nation. Lucas has been
attending the Watts Atelier of the Arts since 2001. In 2005 he was asked to
teach and moved from student to teacher/student. During his time at the atelier
Lucas explored a variety of art careers from visual development, storyboarding,
and conceptual design in the video game world to illustration for books,
card games, and game manuels.
Lucas won the 2009 Chesley Award for The Best Gaming Related Art catagory. In 2010
he was nominated for the Illie Award. Lucas still teaches at the Watts Atelier and
freelances as a fantasy illustrator. Some of his clients include Upperdeck, Blizzard
Entertainment, Wizards of the Coast, Pyr Books, Sony Online Entertainment, Reef,
White Wolf, and many more. Lucas' work can be seen in different magazines, including
"American Artist: Drawing", "Imagine FX", and "Fantasy Art Magazine" China. His work
is also featured in "Spectrum: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art" as well as
"The Art of World of Warcraft TCG-Vol.1".
